ABOUT THE EVENT
Is taking your kids for a section hike on the Appalachian Trail on your bucket list! Then join us!
This section of the C&O Canal trail is also part of the Appalachian Trail, located between Weverton Cliffs and Harpers Ferry.
This hike is intended for families with small children. It's a little over 2 miles (round trip). Bonus points - it is stroller friendly (flat gravel path)!
We'll meet at the trail access located at 602 Weverton Rd, Knoxville, MD 21758 for the C&O canal.
We'll walk along the C&O Canal trail for a little over a mile (with a keen eye for passing trains and turtle families!) til we reach an open shore area on the Potomac River with plenty of rocks for throwing into the water and space for enjoying snacks. Then we'll walk back.
This trail is near water and can be buggy. Please pack bug spray…
