Adventures really only begin when you bring a baby in tow. About Kids Who Explore Adrianna Skori founded Kids Who Explore while hiking pregnant in the Canadian Rockies. An avid hiker, she quickly discovered there was little accessible information on how to safely return to the trail with a baby or confidently explore outdoors with young children. The message she kept hearing was simple: adventure stops when baby arrives. She was even told pregnant women did not belong on the trail. That narrative did not sit right. Kids Who Explore was created to change it. What began as one mother’s refusal to step back from the outdoors became a global movement helping families confidently raise adventurous, resilient kids outside. Founded in the Canadian Rockies, Kids Who Explore is now a social enterprise equipping families with the tools, knowledge, and community to explore together. Through expert led education, local parent led groups, global challenges, practical resources, and the Explorer Store, we make outdoor family life more accessible and achievable. We believe nature is not an escape from parenting. It is a partner in it. Across the globe, families gather under the Kids Who Explore banner to hike, camp, ski, and explore in ways that build courage, connection, and confidence. Our mission is simple: To support families in allowing nature to help raise their children. We are happiest outdoors. And we are building a generation that will be too. Motherhood is Where it All Began Hi Explorers, welcome to Kids Who Explore! I’m Adrianna Skori, the Founder and CEO. I created a space for families to connect in the outdoors and inspire each other. You can connect with us virtually from anywhere in the world or come out and hike, camp, climb, and explore in the Canadian Rockies with us. The vision for Kids Who Explore was sparked while hiking pregnant on a trail close to home and I have put my heart into growing this incredible community and brand. We have come so far as a community and below I share a bit more about how Kids Who Explore began... About Me How did Kids Who Explore Start? In 2020, Adrianna Skori founded Kids Who Explore while hiking pregnant with her baby wearing bestie (Lauren Rodych-Eberle) on a trail in the Canadian Rockies. She was an avid hiker and there was no accessible information on getting back on the trail with a baby or getting outdoors safely with baby or kids. Information on gear was limited and most people just told her that adventures would stop when baby arrives and to stay home and indoors with baby. She was even told that pregnant women didn’t belong on the trail. That was the spark to create a space in the outdoors for other parents, babies, and kids to connect to nature and each other. A space to share knowledge, inspire, encourage each other, and share with the world that getting outside with kids is possible. Adrianna had a dream of reaching families locally and globally as the the world needed a little extra inspiration during the pandemic. “Kids Who Explore’s” name and IG handle was a gift! The platform exploded with love from adventure families world-wide who also wanted to help get kids outdoors. Kids Who Explore hosted virtual challenges, scavenger cards, global trail clean ups at a distance, released podcasts and blogs weekly, and onboarded over 400 Ambassador families to help encourage families to connect to nature too. The explorer #patch4apurpose was sent world-wide to unite our community and the explorer store shipped out Kids Who Explore merch globally. The Hiking Mom Network is a free global community supporting pregnant and postpartum moms through outdoor connection, weekly virtual meetups, and local hiking groups. THE HIKING MOM NETWORK NETWORK OFFERINGS The Hiking Mom Network is a free global community created to support pregnant and postpartum moms through outdoor connection, shared experience, and meaningful community. It exists to remind moms that they are not alone in this season and that healing, confidence, and joy can be found outside with their babies. Through weekly virtual gatherings and local hiking meetups, the Hiking Mom Network connects mothers from around the world who share a desire to get outdoors with their babies, move their bodies gently, and build friendships rooted in real life connection. You do not need to be an experienced hiker to belong. Walking a local trail, spending time in nature, and showing up exactly as you are is enough. Every Monday at noon, moms gather online for a relaxed and welcoming virtual meetup. These weekly calls are designed as a low pressure space to meet other hiking moms, share stories, ask questions, and build connection. From there, moms are supported in finding the next step that feels right for them, whether that is joining a Hiking with Baby class, enrolling in the ten week Hiking Mom Circle to build confidence and skills, or connecting locally with other moms in their area. The Hiking Mom Network also helps moms plug into local chapters within Kids Who Explore, making it easier to find nearby hiking moms and participate in meetups. By supporting connection both online and on the trail, the network helps turn virtual introductions into real world friendships. At its heart, the Hiking Mom Network is about building a global movement of moms who believe that motherhood belongs outdoors. By coming together, we are supporting more moms, more babies, and more families to heal, grow, and connect in nature. Bring along your camping supplies and use one of the many picnic areas throughout the park. Easy Tiger Lilly Loop Easy and scenic loop with beautiful views. We love hiking here in the Fall when the trail turns a golden yellow. Easy Big Hill Springs Extended Loop The creek play will stop the hike but it so worth exploring this beautiful trail. The waterfall and streams are magic for kids.
